Rotherham

The center of Rotherham has a wealth of historic buildings and sites of special interest. You will find fully pedestrianised Effingham Square with Hastings Clock given to the town in 1912 by James Hastings. Medieval Rotherham Bridge and the Chapel on the Bridge are one of only three remaining in the country. All Saints Square houses a fine collection of half-timbered buildings dating from the 1920s. Parish Church of All Saints, one of the largest and stateliest of parish churches in Yorkshire, was built during the fifteenth century on the site of an earlier Saxon Church. Rotherham Town Centre is a bustling and vibrant place to shop with 150 shops within easy walking distance of the modern interchange. There is a wide range of sport and recreation facilities. Herringthorpe Leisure Centre was one of the first multi-sport centres in the country.
