Newton Abbot

Newton Abbot, Devon, is located in the South West of England. It is close to Dartmoor National Park with its beautiful scenery, as well as attractive beaches at Dawlish, Teignmouth and Torquay. Newton Abbot was once a quiet country market town. Great Western Railways made it a center for its locomotive and carriage repairs in the mid 1800's. You should visit the Town Museum displaying Aller Vale pottery, oil paintings and water colors as well as a wealth of artifacts from the era of the Great Western Railway. The center features the ancient tower of St Leonard, that remained of the medieval church. At the opposite end of Newton Abbot is Bradley Manor, a 13th century manor house with a notable great hall.
