Leominster

Leominster is located in the Marches, the beautiful and historic borderlands of England and Wales. In medieval times it prospered thanks to the wool trade. The border location has made it liable to attack and Wigmore Castle is the evidence of the region's turbulent past. Today Leominster is a pleasant market town with a wide variety of small specialist shops and cafes. It is well-known for the number of antique shops. Much of the centre retains a medieval and Tudor appearance, with half timbered houses whose first floors overhang narrow streets. The most notable buildings are the Grange Court, built in 1633 that now houses local authority offices, the Old Priory and the Priory Church. Nearby attractions include Berrington Hall and Croft Castle with fine collections of paintings and furniture.
