Halifax

Welcome to Halifax, an industrial town that is located on the south west of Bradford in West Yorkshire. The attraction of Halifax is the Piece Hall, that served as a central market place, when the town was an important trading centre for textiles. Today it houses shops, art galleries and museum. You should also visit Shibden Hall, the 15th century half-timbered house with its period rooms and the folk museum. It is surrounded by a beautiful park. Children will enjoy the Eureka Interactive Museum, where you can touch, smell and try out all the exhibits. The Wainhouse Tower, build in XIXth century, offers spectacular views if you climb the 403 steps. On the outskirts of Halifax you will find Jungle Experience park which includes exotic plants such as orchids and banana and orange trees.
