Falkirk

The historic town of Falkirk is the thriving administrative, shopping and service centre of Falkirk area, with the country's largest fully pedestrianised high street, extensive sporting and leisure facilities and shopping centres which are among the best in central Scotland and have much to offer. The town has a wealth of attractions such as Callendar House in Falkirk which is an imposing mansion with a 600 year history, Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway offering steam train travel and "Big in Falkirk" - Scotland's national street arts festival. The biggest attraction is the Falkirk Wheel, the world's only rotating boat-lift, that was built in 2002 to transfer boats between the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals. It is located between Camelon and Bonnybridge, 3 km west of Falkirk.
