Brampton

Brampton is a charming and ancient town of red sand stone. It is situated in the north-east of the county, surrounded by beautiful, quiet rolling countryside. The town benefits from being close to the A69 Carlisle to Newcastle road and also the railway line following the same route, thus giving the town excellent communications. Two miles east is the picturesque 13th century Lanercost Priory with its rich history and fine architecture and well worth visiting.
